You need to pay 90% of your taxes by Invalid Date. If you pay late, you may be charged a late penalty (6% per month) and interest (2% per month) on any unpaid taxes.
If you expect a refund from Virginia:You don't need to file a Virginia extension. An automatic 6-month extension is granted.
If you expect to owe Virginia taxes:You don't need to file a Virginia extension, but you do need to pay any tax you expect to owe by Invalid Date to avoid penalties and interest. Use Form 760IP to make your payment.
