An extension extends the time you have to file your return. Utah automatically grants a 6 month extension. No form is filed. If you need to pay taxes, you are still required to pay the amount due by April 15, 2026.
You need to pay 90% of your taxes by April 15, 2026. If you pay late, you may be charged a late penalty and interest on any unpaid taxes.
Even though the deadline has passed, you can still prepare Utah taxes for prior years. Many people who file late tax returns have refunds waiting for them. We'll help you prepare and mail your federal and state tax returns.
