All payments are due by April 15, 2026 whether or not an extension was filed.
An extension extends the time you have to file your return by up to 6 months. If you need to pay taxes, you are required to pay the amount due by April 15, 2026.
You need to pay 90% of your taxes by April 15, 2026. If you pay late, you may be charged a 5% late penalty and interest (1.25% per month) on any unpaid taxes.
If you expect a refund from Missouri:

If you expect to owe Missouri taxes:
Submit Form MO-60 with your payment by April 15, 2026.
If your federal extension is not accepted, a Missouri extension can be requested with Form MO-60.
