Mississippi tax details

The Mississippi Department of Revenue made a few changes for the 2025 tax year.

The tax rate was lowered from 4.7% to 4.4%.

This year there is one new credit: The Blighted Property Rehabilitation Credit.

Mississippi is now also requiring businesses to apply for and include a copy of a Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) certification letter in order to claim the MFLEX credit.

2025 Mississippi extension

An extension extends the time you have to file your return by up to 6 months. If you need to pay taxes, you are required to pay the amount due by April 15, 2026.

You need to pay 80% of your taxes by April 15, 2026. If you pay late, you may be charged interest of NaN% per month on any unpaid taxes.

If you expect a refund from Mississippi:
