Maine tax details

The Maine Revenue Services made a few changes for the 2025 tax year.

The pension income deduction is now subject to income phaseouts for higher-income taxpayers, and certain early distributions are no longer eligible.

The Dependent Exemption Credit is increased for qualifying dependents under age 6, with revised income phaseout amounts.

The penalty for underpayment of the fourth estimated tax installment is waived if the full tax is paid by the end of January following the tax year.
