The Delaware Division of Revenue made very few changes for the 2025 tax year.
The limit for state and local taxes paid that can be claimed for Delaware itemized deductions increased from $10,000 to $40,000 ($20,000 if married filing separately). This change matches the increase to the state and local tax deduction limit for federal itemized deductions.

Get your Delaware refund deposited in your checking or savings account, mailed as a check, loaded on a prepaid debit card, or put towards next year's Delaware taxes.
You will receive a tax return acknowledgement from the Delaware Division of Revenue when your return has been received and is being processed. If additional information is needed to process your return, the Division of Revenue will contact you. Refund time frames can vary depending on the complexity of your return, but the Division of Revenue's goal is to process refunds within twelve weeks of receipt.
If you filed your Delaware tax return electronically, you can usually check your Delaware refund status 4-5 business days after the Delaware Division of Revenue accepts your return.
If you mailed your Delaware tax return, you should wait 3 to 4 weeks before checking your DE refund status. Once processed, it may take 5 to 7 business days for your refund to appear in your bank account or on a prepaid debit card.
