Colorado tax details

The Colorado Department of Revenue made a few changes for the 2025 tax year.

The tax rate changed from 4.25% to 4.4%.

The first-time home buyer savings account subtraction was removed.

The following credits are new: Colorado promise tuition and fee credit, aircraft modification for unleaded fuel credit, apprenticeship credit, disability assistance credit, and the qualified care worker credit.

An extension extends the time you have to file your return by up to 6 months. If you need to pay taxes, you are required to pay the amount due by April 15, 2026. If you pay late, you may be charged a late penalty and interest on any unpaid taxes.
