Alabama tax details

The Alabama Department of Revenue made a few changes for the 2025 tax year. Four new credits were added:

2025 Alabama extension

An extension extends the time you have to file your return by 6 months. Alabama automatically grants a 6-month extension. No form is filed. If you need to pay taxes, you are required to pay the amount due by April 15, 2026.

You need to pay 90% of your taxes by April 15, 2026. If you pay late, you may be charged penalties and interest on unpaid taxes.
