Do I enter my child's interest income on my tax return?

No, do not enter any of your child's income on your tax return. If your child does need to file a tax return, then the child's income needs to be reported on the child's own separate tax return. However, most children do not need to file a separate tax return because their income is not high enough. See Chart B  from the Form 1040 instructions to figure out if your child needs to file a tax return.

Generally speaking, if the child did not have more than $1,350 in investment income, you do not need to file a tax return for the child.

See Child's Investment Income for more information.
