Rhode Island 2018 Tax Updates

Rhode Island has added a new form for personal exemptions, Schedule E, so that Rhode Island taxpayers can still benefit from these, even though the IRS removed exemptions on the federal return due to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. The amount claimed for each exemption was also increased.

In addition to this change, Rhode Island has increased their standard deduction amounts as well as the max amount allowed to be claimed for Property Tax Relief.
