Oregon 2018 Tax Updates

The Oregon Department of Revenue has added a few new forms for tax year 2018. A new Schedule OR-A is used to calculate state Itemized Deductions so that, even if taxpayers can't itemize on their federal returns, maybe they can still itemize on their Oregon returns.

The state of Oregon also has a new individual tax return for the Statewide Transit Tax. This return will only need to be filed by taxpayers who earned wages taxable to Oregon on July 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018 and whose employer either didn't withhold the Statewide Transit Tax from their wages, didn't withhold enough from their wages, or withheld too much. Form OR-STI and Form OR-STI-V are the new forms for this return.
