Minnesota 2018 Tax Updates

The Department of Minnesota has added some new credits and their own itemized deductions schedule starting in the 2018 tax year.

Minnesota is now allowing new credits for enrolling in a beginning farmer management class and selling or leasing agricultural assets to a beginning farmer.

Minnesota has their own itemized deductions schedule that can be taken whether or not federal itemized deductions were taken. Casualties and thefts, unreimbursed employee expenses, and tax fees are some of the included deductions.
