Massachusetts 2018 Tax Updates

Massachusetts has made a few changes for tax year 2018. First of all, Massachusetts is following federal and not allowing a deduction for employee expenses anymore. However, they are still allowing moving expenses to be deducted the same as in prior years. Also, starting in 2018 taxpayers may be eligible for an Angel Investor Credit. This credit equals 20% of the amount of qualifying investments in a qualifying business unless the business is located in a gateway municipality. In this case, the credit equals 30% of the qualifying investment.
