Indiana 2018 Tax Updates

The Indiana Department of Revenue made a few changes for the 2018 tax year. More children now qualify for the Indiana additional dependent exemption because of changes to the dependent child definition. Indiana also increased the military deduction amount for taxpayers with military retirement income.

Contributions made to a CollegeChoice 529 Investment Plan account can now be used to pay for K-12 education expenses. Taxpayers receive a tax credit for these contributions. Also new, Indiana will now be collecting county taxes from nonresident professional team members who play in Indiana counties during the year.
