California resident privacy rights

Right to know

You can request that TaxHawk disclose to you the categories and/or specific pieces of personal information they have collected about you, the categories of sources for that personal information, the purposes for which the business uses that information as described in the “Information collection and use” section, the categories of third parties with whom the business discloses the information, and the categories of information that the business sells or discloses to third parties.

You may only submit a request to know twice within a 12-month period.

Right to delete

You can request that TaxHawk delete personal information collected from you and tell our service providers to do the same, subject to any Federal or State data-retention regulations.

Right to correct

You can edit and correct your personal information at any time by logging into your account.

Exercising right to know, right to delete, right to correct

Through your account:

  • Sign in to your account and go to the Support Center.
  • Create a new Support Issue and enter "CCPA" in the Subject line.
  • In the "New Message" field, describe the kind of CCPA request you'd like to make (such as a "request to know", "request to delete", or "request to correct").
  • A customer support representative will respond within 10 days to begin the identity verification process.

You do not need to create another account with us to submit a request to know, delete or correct your personal information. However, we do consider requests made through your password protected account sufficiently verified when the request relates to personal information associated with that specific account.

If you can’t access your account

  • First try to regain access via the Help me get into my account tool.
  • If you still can't access your account, send an email to support@TaxHawk.com with "CCPA" in the subject line.
  • In the "New Message" field, describe the kind of CCPA request you'd like to make (i.e. a "request to know" or "request to delete").
  • A customer support representative will respond within 10 days to begin the identity verification process.

Identity verification

After initiating a CCPA request, a customer support representative will respond. If the request is not made from within the Support Center after accessing your account, you will need:

  • Access to personal and tax return information stored in your account. You also may be asked identity-specific questions that will help confirm your identity.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm your personal information.

Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a request to know or delete related to your personal information.

  • If using an authorized agent, you will also be required to independently verify your identity and confirm with us that you give permission to the authorized agent.

You may also make a request to know or delete on behalf of your child by submitting a request via support@TaxHawk.com. Please use the same method as described above.

We will only use personal information provided in the request to verify the requestor's identity or authority to make it.
