Questions & Answers

Can I take the Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction if I had a net loss for the year?

No. If you have a net loss from self-employment, you are not able to take the Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction on Line 29 of Form 1040, Schedule 1.

You can only take this deduction if you have a net profit from self-employment for the year.
