What is the Municipal Bond Interest Addition?

Interest earned on municipal bonds or similar securities issued by a state, city, or other non-federal entity located outside of Utah is subject to Utah tax unless it's from an exempt state or was purchased before January 1, 2003. This interest needs to be added back if it was entered as tax-exempt interest on your Federal return.

For more information go to the Utah State Tax Commission's website.
