What home school expenses qualify for the Ohio Home School Expenses Credit?

To qualify for this credit, you need to have received a letter from your school district's superintendent that excused your dependent(s) from in-class attendance, and approved a parent/guardian to provide home instruction.

The following expenses qualify:
  • Books and subscriptions
  • School supplies and supplementary materials
  • Computer software and applications
Expenses or fees for computers or other electronic devices or accessories do NOT qualify.

Expenses for dependents that attended school remotely due to COVID-19, or that attended an online school, do NOT qualify.
