Who is a nonresident of Indiana?

You are a nonresident of Indiana if you were a legal resident of another state but worked in Indiana or received income from Indiana sources during 2021.

Military personnel whose home of record is NOT Indiana but are stationed in Indiana are considered nonresidents. In this case, you are only required to file an Indiana tax return if you earned income from Indiana sources other than military pay.
