What is the Employer Paid Leave of Absence for Live Organ Donation Credit?
If you're an employer, you can take a credit if you had 2020 expenses while your employee was taking a leave of absence (not to exceed ten working days per employee) for donating a live organ.
To qualify for this credit, you must meet these requirements:
- You paid an employee during his or her leave of absence (including any temporary replacement costs), and
- You have documents from the employee's medical provider that verifies the employee's organ donation.
Note: You can't claim this credit for an employee who you pay $80,000, or more, in wages during the tax year.
