What organ donation expenses can I deduct?

You may deduct up to $7,500 of unreimbursed travel expenses, lodging expenses or lost wages, paid or incurred, during the taxable year that are attributable to the donation of all or part of one or more of your liver, kidney, pancreas, intestine, lung, or bone marrow to another person for organ transplant. If you're filing a joint return, you and your spouse may each claim up to the maximum amount allowed.
