Questions & Answers

What are some examples of when I may need to pay use tax on a purchase? And how do I find these purchases?

Online purchases with no sales tax are the most common example (eBay, Amazon, etc). Also, use tax would need to be collected for purchases through the mail from an out-of-state seller.

The amounts of these purchases can be found with the packing receipt if the item was shipped to you. If it was an online purchase, usually you can sign in to your account and find past purchases. You are also usually sent a confirmation email for most internet purchases.
