Most people have taxes withheld from their wages to prepay any tax and do not need to make any estimated tax payments.
However, if you have income from which tax is not withheld (for example, interest, dividends, unemployment compensation, etc.), you may need to pay estimated tax to prepay your 2021 tax.
You do not need to make estimated tax payments if you expect to owe, after subtracting your withholding and credits, less than $1,000 in tax or pay 90 percent of your total tax liability for 2021.
A worksheet is included in this section to help you decide how much estimated Arkansas tax you will have to pay.
