What is the Insurance Reinvestment Fund Credit?

The Insurance Reinvestment Fund Credit is available for investments made through a fund manager in an insurance business. This credit may only be claimed by taxpayers who have invested in an insurance business through a fund that meets all of the requirements set forth in Conn. Gen. Stat. 38a-88a.

This credit may be carried forward for five years or until the full credit has been applied. If you have been allowed this credit, you may assign such credit to another person if that person can claim credit with respect to a calendar year for which you would have been eleigible to claim the credit. To claim the credit, you'll need to complete Form CT-IRF by hand and enter the values here.
