I have already sent my amendment to the IRS. Can you stop it before they get it?
Once you e-file or mail your amendment, there's no way for us to stop the amendment. You'll have to wait until the IRS either accepts or rejects your amendment.
If the IRS rejects your amendment, you can sign in to your account and make a correction to your information before resubmitting your amendment.
If the IRS accepts your amendment, you'll need to file another amended return to make additional changes. Sign in to your account and click the Account menu in the top-right corner of the screen. Then you can choose the option to Amend Tax Return to begin another amendment.
