What do I include as my parent's tax?

Usually you enter the amount from your parent's Form 1040, Line 16.

Don't include tax from any of the following:

• Form 4972
• Form 8814
• Any recapture of an education credit
• Alternative Minimum Tax

If your parent used the Foreign Earned Income Tax Worksheet to figure their tax, enter the amount from Line 4 of that worksheet instead of your parent's tax.
