How do I know if I have donation carryovers from prior years?

It's uncommon to have donation carryovers from prior years. Donation carryovers happen when you donate more to a qualifying organization than is allowed, based on your adjusted gross income (AGI) and the donation limit the IRS assigns for that type of organization.
