How do I make a California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) data request?

Policy below effective January 1, 2020

Please note:
Due to the sensitive nature of your tax information, and per California law, we require all individuals making a CCPA-related request to confirm their identity. A customer service representative will walk you through the identity verification process.

To verify your identity, you will need access to:
  • Personal and tax return information stored in your account
  • A phone registered in your name
  • Government-issued photo ID
You'll also be asked identity-specific questions that will help confirm your identity.

Making a CCPA request

  1. Sign in to your account and click the Support link. You may contact us through the Support Center page.
  2. Create a new Support Issue and enter "CCPA" in the Subject line.
  3. In the "New Message" field, describe the kind of CCPA request you'd like to make (i.e. a "request to know" or "request to delete").
  4. A customer service representative will respond within 10 days to begin the identity verification process.

What if I can't access my account?

  1. First try to regain access via the Forgot username or password? tool.
  2. If you still can't access your account, send an email to support@support.freetaxusa.com with "CCPA" in the subject line.
  3. In the message body, describe the kind of CCPA request you'd like to make (i.e. a "request to know" or "request to delete").
  4. A customer service representative will respond within 10 days to begin the identity verification process.
