Funeral expenses

Funeral expenses can't be deducted on a Form 1040 (individual) tax return. In the rare case of an estate being large enough to be required to file an estate return, then the estate may be able to deduct funeral expenses on Form 706, United States Estate (and Generation Skipping Transfer) Tax Return.
