Excise taxes

Excise taxes that are based on the value of your personal property such as cars, R.V.s, and boats are deductible expenses that are entered as personal property taxes in the Itemized Deduction section of the FreeTaxUSA software. However, excise taxes that are not based on the value of the property are not deductible.
