Is homeowner's insurance deductible?

Homeowner's insurance isn't deductible as an itemized deduction on your personal return. For most people, it's not reported anywhere on your tax return. However, if the homeowner's insurance was for a rental home, you can deduct it against your rental income. If the homeowner's insurance is for a business then it can be deducted against your business income.
