What if I forgot my password?
On the Sign In screen, click "Forgot username or password?"
To reset your password, enter your phone number or email address, then you'll be asked to verify your Social Security number. If the information matches our records, a recovery code will be sent to you. Once the recovery code has been entered when prompted, you'll be able to create a new password.

Follow these easy steps to create a new password.
STEP 1: On the Sign In Help screen, click Forgot Password (or use the link above).
STEP 2: Enter your username, SSN, and the email address on your account
(if you don't have access to your email address, you can recover your account with your phone number).
STEP 3: Answer the security question.
STEP 4: Choose how you want us to send you a Password Reset Code.
STEP 5: Keep your FreeTaxUSA browser window open (don't close it!), go get your Password Reset Code, and come back to enter it.

Note: The code is only active for 20 minutes (or until you request another code).
