Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) accounts allow earnings to be distributed tax-free when used for the beneficiary's qualified disability expenses. Since the law authorizing ABLE accounts is relatively new, each state must pass its own legislation to implement them. As a result, some states may not yet offer ABLE accounts.
