How do I make the most out of importing my 2024 return?

Here are some tips for importing your 2024 tax return:

• Make sure you're using a PDF file of your full 2024 tax return downloaded directly from the other company's software.
• If you didn't save a PDF copy of last year's tax return, you'll need to get it by signing into the software you used last year.
• Don't upload your W-2. We need your Form 1040 instead.
• Make sure your PDF file is not password protected.

To get the most out of our importing feature, make sure that the PDF you upload is a copy of your 2024 tax return with all forms and worksheets included. This is usually the copy that you save for your own records.

If you had a Form W-2 on your tax return, we can carry over that information into our software if your PDF has a W-2 worksheet.

If you have depreciable business assets, be sure that your PDF includes a depreciation worksheet so that your business assets carry over into our software.
