Who do I choose as the employer?

The employer is the person who hired the employees and has an Employer Identification Number (EIN) attached to their name. If you have a joint EIN attached to both of your names, choose one of you to be the employer. You can only have one Schedule H per employer.

If you don't have an EIN, you'll need to get one before filing Schedule H.
