How should I allocate my household size for the alternative family sizes?

The taxpayer and spouse must include themselves in their alternative family size, but only if they either were enrolled in a Marketplace health plan or enrolled another individual in their family in a Marketplace health plan.

Each dependent must be allocated based on which spouse can claim the child as a dependent. If both spouses can claim the child as a dependent then that child can be allocated to either alternative family size.
