Louisiana Extension
If you know you can't file your Louisiana return by May 15, 2026, you don't need to file an extension request. Louisiana automatically gives you a filing extension of six months to November 16, 2026.
IMPORTANT: If you owe taxes on your Louisiana return, your extension does NOT extend the time to pay the taxes due. The payment is still due on May 15.

We'll fill out a payment voucher for you, which you can mail to the Louisiana Department of Revenue by May 15 to avoid penalties and interest.
