Am I considered a full-year resident of Kentucky?
According to Kentucky, "Resident" means any individual domiciled in Kentucky on the last day of the taxable year.
A domicile is your permanent home--the place where you intend to return after a period of absence (e.g., vacation, business assignment, educational leave). Even if you live in more than one place, you can only have one domicile. Your domicile doesn't change until you move to a new place with the intent to establish your permanent home there and to abandon your Kentucky domicile. Moving to a new location, even for a long time, doesn't change your domicile if you plan to return to Kentucky.
Your home, whether inside or outside Kentucky, isn't permanent if you maintain it only temporarily to accomplish a particular purpose (e.g., temporary job assignment).
