How do I e-file my federal and state tax returns together?

In order to e-file your state return(s) using FreeTaxUSA you need to e-file your federal return as well.

You can do this in one of two ways:

• You can e-file both of your returns at the same time.
• You can e-file your federal return now and wait until the IRS accepts it. Once your federal return has been accepted you will be able to e-file your state return.

If you're unable to e-file your federal return or you e-filed your federal return elsewhere, you'll need to mail your state return.
