You're a full-year resident of West Virginia if:

• You spend more than 30 days in West Virginia with the intent of West Virginia becoming your permanent residence, OR
• You spent more than 183 days in West Virginia during 2025, even though you may also be considered a resident of another state.

A temporary absence from West Virginia doesn't make you a part-year resident.
