How should I print my return for my records?

Here are a few tips for printing your tax return:
  • For best results we suggest you use the latest version of Adobe Reader. If you don't have Adobe Reader, you can download  it for free.
  • If you are having trouble printing your return, try using the Download button to download a copy of your return. Then open and print the downloaded copy. This helps avoid any browser errors when printing.
  • Print your return on high-quality white paper. We recommend at least 20 lb bond paper using black ink.
  • Print your return on one side of the paper only.
  • When printing, make sure that Page Scaling is set to None or 100% and that Auto-Rotate and Center are both unchecked. See below for specific instructions for popular PDF viewers.
Adobe Reader

On the Print screen, set Page Scaling to None and uncheck Auto-Rotate and Center. Leave all other settings as they are.

Foxit Reader

On the Print screen, set Page Scaling to Actual Size or 100%. Uncheck the Auto-Rotate and Auto-Center boxes. Leave all other settings as they are.

Preview (Mac)

On the Print screen, set Scaling to 100%. Uncheck the Auto-Rotate box. Leave all other settings as they are.

If you are still unable to view or print your return, update or reinstall Adobe Reader. We have found that many printing problems can be solved by updating or reinstalling Acrobat Reader.
