What kind of description should I enter for donated property?

You need to describe the property in enough detail to identify it. Property with a greater value needs more of a description. For example, a personal computer would need more detail than pots and pans.

For a vehicle, give the make and model. We'll ask you for more information later.

For securities, include the following:

• Name of the issuer or company name
• Number of shares
• Kind of security
• Whether a share of a mutual fund, and
• Whether regularly traded on a stock exchange or in an over-the-counter market.
