What is the menu path?
The menu path shows the menu links at the top of the screen to use to go to the appropriate screen to enter your information. For example, the menu path for the Social Security benefits screen is:
Menu Path: Income > Common Income > Social Security Benefits (SSA-1099)
If you click on the Income menu link, it will show all the submenu items in the Income section of the software. Under the Common Income header, click on the Social Security Benefits (SSA-1099) menu link and you'll go to that screen.
You'll need to progress to each section in the software before the menu links are activated for that particular section. For example, if you're just starting your tax return, you can't use the menu links to jump ahead to the Social Security Benefits screen. Once you've reached the Income section of the software, you can use that menu anytime to access the screens in the Income section of the software.
