- Qualified battery storage technology
- Qualified fuel cell property
- Insulation material or air sealing material or systems
- Energy Star program exterior doors
- Energy Star program exterior windows or skylights
- Central air conditioners
- Natural gas, propane, or oil water heaters
- Natural gas, propane, or oil furnace or hot water boilers
- Improvements or replacement of panelboards, subpanelboards,
branch circuits, or feeders
- Electric or natural gas heat pumps and heat pump water heaters
- Biomass stoves and biomass boilers
Other home improvements aren't generally deducted on your tax return; they just increase the cost basis of your home.
