What is the CP 523 notice telling me?
This notice is telling you that the IRS intends to terminate your installment agreement. They may also issue a levy against your bank accounts, wages, or other assets. The notice will tell you the specific reason for this action. Some examples are:

What do I have to do?
Contact the IRS immediately at the number printed on the notice. Let them know what you'll do to correct the problem.

You have 30 days from the date of the notice to contact them.

What if I don't agree or have already taken corrective action?
If you don't agree with the reason that they're canceling your installment agreement, contact them at the number printed on the notice to discuss it. If, after discussing your account, you still don't agree, you have the right to file an appeal. You may also contact the
Taxpayer Advocate Service.
If you have already taken corrective action, you should still call them at the number printed on the notice to make sure your installment agreement can be reinstated.
