Can I file ONLY my state tax return?
You can choose to mail a state-only return using FreeTaxUSA, but you can only e-file a state return if you also e-file your federal return using FreeTaxUSA.
On the Filing Method screen, choose Mail your federal tax return for the question that asks how you would like to file your federal return. Your state return will need to be mailed.
