I am worried I put the wrong birthday on my tax return. How can I correct this?

If you have already e-filed your tax return, the IRS will reject the return if the birth date does not match the name and Social Security number shown on the tax return. If the IRS accepts the e-filed return, you did enter the correct birth date and will not need to make any changes. If the IRS rejects the return, then you will need to correct the birthdate on the Taxpayer Information screen and resubmit your tax return to the IRS.
