I paid for my return, but the check status page says my federal tax return has not been e-filed.

Paying for your return does not automatically e-file your return. To complete your return, use the menu to go to the Final Steps section of the software. Make sure you go through all the screens in the Final Steps section until you reach the final screen, Submit Return for Processing . At the bottom of that screen there is a button labeled Send Tax Return. Once the Send Tax Return button is clicked, the tax return will be e-filed.
