Tips
Reported tips: Menu Path: Income > Common Income > Wages (W-2)
Unreported or allocated tips: Menu Path: Income > Uncommon Income > Unreported Tips
Tips from self-employment: Menu Path: Income > Business / Rental Income > Business Income (Schedule C)
If you reported your tips to your employer, they should be included with your wages in Box 1 of your W-2. If you reported all your tips and they were correctly included on your W-2, you don't need to do anything besides enter your W-2.
If you have allocated tip income shown in Box 8 of your W-2, or if you have any other tip income that isn't reported as wages in Box 1 of your W-2, enter those amounts on the Your Unreported Tips screen.
If you received tips as a self-employed person, report these tips as income on your Schedule C instead. If they weren't reported to you on a 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC, enter them directly in the income section for your business when asked about gross receipts and sales not from Form 1099-NEC or Form 1099-MISC.
