Why am I not receiving the full Additional Child Tax Credit?

The Child Tax Credit reduces the Additional Child Tax Credit.

Your credit may be reduced if you entered your income incorrectly. Check your W-2 forms to make sure you have entered your Social Security and Medicare wages and Social Security and Medicare tax withholdings correctly on the W-2 screen.

If your earned income is less than $2,500, you're not eligible for the Additional Child Tax Credit.

Most people who qualify for the Additional Child Tax Credit have three or more dependents who are under age 17, and are not receiving the full $2,200 Child Tax Credit for each dependent.
